Be at the heart of the action and help bring the energy! The Riverfest Hype Crew plays a dual role—keeping the crowd excited and engaged while also helping ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone.
Working alongside the emcee and event staff, you’ll help build enthusiasm around the races, encourage participation, and guide attendees to stay within designated areas. This role also includes important safety support near the water to help keep spectators safe and events running smoothly.
Responsibilities include:
- Cheering on teams and encouraging crowd participation
- Supporting the emcee with energy-building moments
- Helping guide guests to appropriate viewing areas
- Monitoring crowd flow near the pond and reinforcing safety boundaries
- Safety Spotting: Keeping an eye on the water and alerting staff if needed (non-lifeguard role)
- Notifying event staff of any safety concerns or issues
