Day of Caring is a one-day, community-wide celebration of volunteerism across Bartholomew County—bringing together residents from all walks of life, including local businesses, city and county government, churches, civic groups, and families. Together, we roll up our sleeves to complete meaningful projects that support nonprofits and strengthen our community, creating a positive and lasting impact where it matters most.

Both morning and afternoon shifts will kick off at the United Way Firehouse (1304 Hutchins Avenue)—your home base for the day! When you arrive, you’ll pick up your official event t-shirt, grab tickets for free goodies, connect with fellow volunteers, and join in a large group photo before heading out to your project site.

You’re welcome to arrive anytime after 7:30 AM for the morning shift or 11:30 AM for the afternoon shift. We’ll have games and fun waiting for you until we officially kick things off with brief remarks at 8:00 AM and 12:00 PM, followed by a group photo at 8:05 AM and 12:05 PM. After that, you’ll head out, ready to make a difference across our community.

During the lunch hour, food trucks will be on-site—we hope you'll come early or swing back after your shift to grab a bite and enjoy the atmosphere!

As a small thank-you for your time and impact, volunteers will receive:

• A free drink from Dorothy’s Playhouse (coffee or dirty soda)
• A cookie from Cookie Paradise
• A drink of your choice at Hog Molly from 4:00–5:15 PM (soda, beer, wine, etc.)
