Who We Are
Mission: To unite the community in the fight against hunger and homelessness through fundraising and awareness.
Empty Bowls – Columbus, Indiana is annual fundraising event that helps provide food to area food shelters throughout the year.
Empty Bowls is an annual event that raises money for six area food pantries and shelters, while at the same time bringing the community together to enjoy a good meal with friends and/or family. In addition to a hot meal of homemade soups and breads, you can also purchase bowls made by local potters. The bowls remind us of how we can help when we come together. Event proceeds are donated to Love Chapel, Horizon House Homeless Shelter, Community Center of Hope, Turning Point Domestic Violence Services, Salvation Army, and Thrive Alliance.
What We Do
We are a compassionate organization devoted to fighting hunger within our community. Our main event, the Empty Bowls Auction, utilizes the creative power of our local artisans, who generously donate beautiful, handcrafted bowls as part of a unique fundraising approach. Through our auction, we are able to foster a sense of togetherness and civic participation while raising much-needed funds to support hunger relief efforts. Every bid means more meals and resources for the less fortunate. Together, we’re creating a caring community where both bowls and hearts are never empty.
