Who We Are

Mission: To work toward the prevention and elimination of domestic and dating violence.

Turning Point Domestic Violence Services has been providing victim services since 1975. In 1980 the Columbus Regional Shelter for Victims of Domestic Violence (dba TPDVS) was incorporated. The 25 bed Emergency Shelter now serves a seven county area including Bartholomew, Brown, Decatur, Jackson, Jennings, Johnson and Shelby counties. All county offices offer non-residential services to help victims who are not seeking shelter. In 2007 Turning Point added a Latina Victim Services Coordinator role to serve the growing number of Hispanic victims in its service area. Turning Point also provides prevention education community wide and in school classrooms.
