Volunteers are needed to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our participants. As a Companionship Volunteer, you will assist with the daily activity program, encourage socialization, and help support participants and staff. This role involves engaging participants in various activities designed to enhance their mental, physical, and social well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist with leading and facilitating daily scheduled activities such as crafts, arts, and games.Encourage social interaction and foster a positive, welcoming environment for participants.Support participants in small gardening projects and assist with gardening activities.Provide emotional support and engage in meaningful conversations with participants.Help staff with any additional tasks related to participant care and activities.

Requirements:

Passion for working with seniors and individuals with varying abilities.Ability to engage and connect with people of all ages and backgrounds.Enthusiasm for arts, crafts, gardening, and activities that promote physical and mental stimulation.Ability to work as part of a team and independently when needed.No prior experience required; training and guidance will be provided

Just Friend's Adult Day Services is seeking a dedicated volunteer to assist in cleaning and detailing the vans used to transport participants. The vans are essential for the safe and comfortable transport of participants, and regular cleaning is needed to maintain a clean and welcoming environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Vacuum the interior of all four vans.Wipe down surfaces including seats, dashboards, and door panels.Clean and shine the windows for clarity.Ensure the vehicles are presentable, safe, and comfortable for participants.

Requirements:

Attention to detail and a willingness to work efficiently.Ability to lift and move light cleaning equipment.Comfortable working outdoors, as the vans may be parked in outdoor locations.No prior experience required; training and supplies will be provided.

Just Friends Adult Day Services is looking for volunteers who would like to bring their well-behaved animals for visits with our participants. These visits provide joy, comfort, and companionship to the adults in our care, creating meaningful and uplifting experiences for everyone involved.

Volunteer Responsibilities:

Bring your well-behaved pet to visit with participants in a safe and controlled environment.Engage with participants and encourage positive interaction between them and your pet.Ensure the comfort and safety of both the participants and your animal during the visit.
