Help Bring Holiday Joy to Local Children

The United Way of Bartholomew County is seeking enthusiastic volunteers to support children in our community this holiday season. Volunteers will assist with phone calls and use an online registration system to help families sign up for gift assistance through programs such as Christmas with Veterans, Community Center of Hope Angel Tree, Firemen’s Cheer Fund, Shop With A Cop, St. Bartholomew Giving Tree, and Toys for Tots.

What’s needed:

Basic office and computer skills

A willingness to learn (training will be provided at the start of your first shift)

Completion of a background check (a consent form will be emailed after you sign up)

Volunteer Details:
October 6 – December 5
Shifts available Monday–Friday: 9:30 am-12:30 pm or 1–4 pm
Commit to one shift or as many as you’d like—every hour helps!

By giving a few hours of your time, you’ll make a lasting difference for children and families in Bartholomew County this holiday season.

United Way of Bartholomew County is seeking volunteer photographers to capture the energy and impact of our Day of Service projects throughout the county!

Date: Thursday, September 11, 2025

Location: Various project sites across Bartholomew County (location assignments will be shared prior to the event)

Shifts Available: 7:45AM – 11:45AM • 11:45AM – 3:45 PM

Requirements:

Bring your own camera Ability to upload photos to a shareable file within 24 hoursThe sharable file will be shared with each photographer prior to eventAbility to text a few photos to Communications Director while on-site Must be comfortable traveling to different project locationsMust be comfortable in interacting with volunteers for photography purposes including asking them for shotsVolunteer photographers should plan to spend at least 15 to 30 minutes at each site snapping photos

Your photos will help United Way tell the story of community impact and be used in marketing and communications materials.

United Way of Bartholomew County is seeking bilingual volunteers to assist with language needs across various organizations. As needs arise, we will connect volunteers to organizations requesting bilingual supporting, helping bridge communication gaps and enhance community services. 

How you can help:

Volunteer for language support when specific needs arise withing local organizations.Assist with translation, interpretation, or general community in your language(s).Make a meaningful impact in the community by heling people connect and thrive.
