Volunteer: Afterschool Homework Help - BCSC Building

Family School Partners and Su Casa are co-collaborators in the Afterschool Homework Help program lead by Vecina Irma Cortez. During this program students are provided with homework assistance, creative art projects and prize incentives for their educational and interpersonal growth. We are looking for consistent volunteers who could provide mentorship/tutoring for youth K-4th. The program will be ongoing throughout the school year -On Wednesdays- and will take place at the Terrace Room in the BCSC Building.

BCSC Cultural Learning Center is looking for volunteers who can help with the English Conversation Club program. The purpose of this program is to help a diverse group of adults learn and practice English. It is 1 hour in the morning, once a week through the school year. It is possible for the date and time to be set to accommodate your schedule. The conversation could be held either in person at Columbus North High school or virtually. Volunteers are asked to initiate conversation topics, help to build up topic-related English vocabulary, and facilitate a group of individuals’ conversations/dialogues.
