You’ll be the first friendly face our clients see, helping create a welcoming environment while supporting the flow of the tax site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Welcome Taxpayers: Greet individuals in a warm and friendly manner.
- Manage Sign-In: Direct taxpayers to sign in and ensure all necessary IDs and documents are verified.
- Explain Processes: Provide clear information about the drop-off tax preparation process.
- Organize Paperwork: Assist in organizing taxpayer's documents to streamline their experience.
Important Notes:
- Greeters do not need to be certified in tax law and will not provide tax advice or answer tax-related questions.
Training:
- Dates: Training begins early January 2026.
- Format: Both online and in-person training is required.
- Completion: All training must be finished by end of January 2026.
- Certification: Upon finishing the training, you will need to take an open-book online test in Standard of Conduct, Intake Interview to receive certification.
Commitment:
- Timeframe: Volunteers are required to commit a minimum of 4 hours per week from February 2 to April 15, 2026.
