In this role, you’ll direct traffic, guide guests to designated parking areas, and help ensure everyone gets in and out safely and efficiently. Your energy and clear communication will play a big part in keeping things organized and stress-free for attendees.

Be part of the team that brings Columbus Riverfest featuring Ya Gotta Regatta to life! As a member of the Set-Up Crew, you’ll play a key role in transforming Mill Race Park into a vibrant, high-energy event space ready for a day of cardboard boat racing and family fun.

Volunteers in this role will assist with setting up tents, tables, signage, and other event essentials to ensure everything is in place before guests and teams arrive. It’s a great opportunity to work alongside fellow volunteers, get a behind-the-scenes look at the event, and make a big impact before the excitement begins.

Responsibilities include:

Assisting with tent, table, and chair setup Placing signage and directional materials throughout the event space Helping organize registration areas, race zones, and vendor spaces Assisting community organizations and vendors with unloading and locating their assigned spaces Helping vendors and organizations set up their tents and tables as needed Supporting event staff with general event preparations and last-minute task

Help bring an amazing day to a strong finish! The Riverfest Wrap Crew plays a key role in wrapping up Columbus Riverfest featuring Ya Gotta Regatta by helping clean up and pack materials after the event.

This is a high-energy, team-oriented role where you’ll work alongside others to take down tents, pack up tables and chairs, gather signage, and help return the park to its original state. It’s a great way to support the event, connect with fellow volunteers, and end the day knowing you made a big impact.

Responsibilities include:

Taking down tents, tables, and chairsCollecting and packing signage, supplies, and yard gamesAssisting with general cleanup of the event spaceHelping load materials for transport as needed

Be at the heart of the action and help bring the energy! The Riverfest Hype Crew plays a dual role—keeping the crowd excited and engaged while also helping ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone.

Working alongside the emcee and event staff, you’ll help build enthusiasm around the races, encourage participation, and guide attendees to stay within designated areas. This role also includes important safety support near the water to help keep spectators safe and events running smoothly.

Cheering on teams and encouraging crowd participationSupporting the emcee with energy-building momentsHelping guide guests to appropriate viewing areasMonitoring crowd flow near the pond and reinforcing safety boundariesSafety Spotting: Keeping an eye on the water and alerting staff if needed (non-lifeguard role)Notifying event staff of any safety concerns or issues
