Who We Are
Mission: To empower people in our community to rise out of poverty, move towards self-reliance, and reach their full potential.
Volunteers of America Ohio & Indiana is an affiliate of Volunteers of America, a national nonprofit, faith-based organization dedicated to helping people rebuild their lives and reach their full potential. As one of the largest affiliates, we strategically design and locally deliver evidence-based programs to our communities’ most pressing needs.
Established locally in 1896, our ministry of service has supported and empowered America’s most vulnerable groups including at-risk youth, the frail elderly, men and women returning from prison, homeless individuals and families, people with disabilities, and those recovering from addictions. Our work touches the mind, body, heart – and ultimately the spirit – of those we serve, integrating our deep compassion with highly effective programs and services.
What We Do
At Volunteers of America Ohio & Indiana, we are committed to caring for all people who need a hand up to get on their feet. We do so through programs that provide housing and assistance to veterans, mothers struggling with addiction, individuals returning from prison and families in need. We are more than a nonprofit. We are a ministry of service dedicated to helping those in need reach their full potential.
