Who We Are

Mission: To promote bicycling and make bicycles a sustainable and accessible form of transportation and recreation for all those in Bartholomew County.

At Bike Co-op, we’re passionate advocates for green transportation, promoting biking both as a sustainable mode of travel and as a hobby. We’re a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing affordable access to quality bikes, parts and services. Our mission extends to offering educational workshops, aimed at equipping people with the necessary bicycle maintenance skills. We also enthusiastically support social justice and are actively involved in projects that promote inclusivity and diversity in cycling. Through connecting local communities, we strive to make cycling more prominent, approachable, and accessible to everyone.

What We Do

At our nonprofit organization, we endeavor to empower individuals within our community through an engagement with bicycles. We offer our community members a public workshop, where they can learn about bike repairs and maintenance, while also providing a platform for them to engage in self-directed learning. Our bike shop provides affordable bikes and parts, encouraging an eco-friendly mode of transportation. Moreover, our programs like Earn-a-Bike, Mobile Repair Stations, and Community Partner Bike Drives aim to ensure that bikes are accessible to everyone, thus promoting physical health, reducing environmental impact, and fostering a stronger community sense.
