Who We Are
Mission: To foster the principle of self-reliance among individuals who are suffering from poverty and providing support that they need in their journey to financial stability.
Sans Souci, French for “without worry”, operates a thrift store with the proceeds of the store supporting the core three programs offered to Bartholomew County community members. Founded in 1979, Sans Souci has worked tirelessly to combat poverty in our community through our programs.
What We Do
Sans Souci offers three community programs:
- Low-Cost: A thrift store offering affordable household items, clothing, furniture, and books, enabling community members to save money and access essential goods.
- No-Cost: Provides free items like clothing, shoes, winter coats, and, when available, new socks and underwear. It also offers gently-used steel-toe boots for job seekers.
- Employee Development: A program for individuals facing employment barriers, providing one-on-one support, job training, and life skills development to help employees transition to better-paying jobs or education.
Through these programs, Sans Souci’s mission is to help the community live “without worry.”
